Taller Veganico:

This hipster oasis is tucked inside the corner of a mechanic’s shop, but it is decorated with vines and lights in a way that you feel you are eating under the stars. There are great Mexican options—such as mole & mushroom tacos, tomales wrapped in banana leaves, tortilla soup—but also international choices—like the Arab falafel burger, oriental wrap, and portabello mushroom sandwich. There are usually two for one taco specials as well as delicious drinks of the day.

Trece Lunas:

This restaurant is unlike any other, with eclectic décor and a “slow food” mentality. Writing and artwork cover ever inch of the walls and furniture, and there is an entire menu devoted to vegan foods. There are aspects of the menu designed to be sharing plates called “botanas,” so be sure to ask the waiter for help. Surely one of the coolest ambiances in all of barrio antiguo.

The opposite of Trece Lunas, Tierra Libre is very calm with a very cozy, casual feel. The food is delicious, and served quickly with great service; but while you are reading, there are funny and interesting books to pick up from the bookshelves built into the walls. There are many great and unique coffee and tea choices on the menu, which makes it a great place to relax or work.
