There are great Mexican options—such as mole & mushroom tacos, tomales wrapped in banana leaves, tortilla soup—but also international choices—like the Arab falafel burger, oriental wrap, and portabello mushroom sandwich. There are usually two for one taco specials as well as delicious drinks of the day.

This restaurant is unlike any other, with eclectic décor and a “slow food” mentality. Writing and artwork cover ever inch of the walls and furniture, and there is an entire menu devoted to vegan foods. There are aspects of the menu designed to be sharing plates called “botanas,” so be sure to ask the waiter for help. Surely one of the coolest ambiances in all of barrio antiguo.

The opposite of Trece Lunas, Tierra Libre is very calm with a very cozy, casual feel. There are many great and unique coffee and tea choices on the menu, which makes it a great place to relax or work.
