THE ASOMO GROUP WELCOMES YOU
ASOMO, the American Society of Monterrey, is a group focused towards all English-speaking residents of Monterrey. This group dedicates its time to helping one or two charities a year, planning weekend excursions around Mexico, organizing day trips around Monterrey, hosting monthly happy hours and holding Halloween and Easter parties for the kids. In addition, ASOMO organizes several parties a year such as Memorial and Labor day get togethers. Most the events are open to members and non-members, but at a discount for members.
If you're new to Monterrey, we welcome you. We hope you'll find our information useful to help you move to this exciting city. Feel free to contact us with questions as they arise. More than likely, we've all had the same experience as you're going through right now.

- Membership. ASOMO, the American Society of Monterrey, is open to all English-speaking residents of Monterrey. However, only Americans can vote and serve on the board. Membership dues run on a calendar year basis (January - December). The dues are $400 pesos per couple and $200 pesos per single membership. Dues are prorated for new memberships only. Members receive access to all web site information and lower entrance fees to ASOMO events. Contact Jeff Jensen at asomo.mty@gmail.com
- Charity. This year we're dedicating our focus on the Casa Azul, a clinic manned by volunteer doctors and nurses who perform surgery on facial deformations such as Cleft Palate and Hare Lip.
- Board Meetings. Board Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Contact a board member for the location. Meetings are open to all ASOMO members.
- Events (Access to members only) Check out the event calendar to see all the upcoming events that ASOMO has to offer. Get a glimpse into upcoming trips, children's parties and the monthly happy hours.
- Directory of Members. (Access to Members Only) Look up members telephone numbers online. The list is updated monthly. This directory is the exclusive property of our organization and is not to be used for commercial or soliciting purposes.
- Directory of Services (Access to Members Only) Click on the link to your left to find a list of vendors and doctors that have been recommended by our members.
- Useful Information Living in Mexico. (Access to Members Only) Find out the most up-to-date information about importing your car, taking your children across international borders and what you can legally bring back from the US into Mexico.
